After an assembly regarding world book day around the world Lower School pupils enjoyed going on a “Where’s Wally?” hunt around their classrooms and did various other in class activities such as, creating their own comic book, learning to draw Willy Wonka with Quintin Blake, draw-a-long with Nick Sharratt drawing dinosaurs, Guess the Book Quiz, a range of craft activities including colouring characters, creating bookmarks and designing their own front cover.
At Upper School some classes looked at The Arrival by Shaun Tan and talked about the differences in the two settings, what the colours represented and why the author has drawn strange creatures to reflect his own experiences of moving to a foreign country. Others looked at the illustrations of Quentin Blake.
The Whole School are participating in a Guess Who’s Bookshelf Quiz and a Reading Star Challenge, raising money for Book Aid International.
The pupils really enjoyed celebrating World Book Day.
